Tulsa Community Foundation Initiates Endowment for Animal Services
The Tulsa Community Foundation has announced the creation of a $1 million endowment, known as the 'Forever Fund,' to support animals within the city. This initiative seeks to establish a lasting source of funding for Tulsa Animal Services and challenges the community to match the foundation’s contribution.
Purpose of the 'Forever Fund'
The 'Forever Fund' is designed to provide long-term support for the welfare of city animals. According to the Tulsa Community Foundation, the fund will help pay for essential medical equipment, implement safety improvements, and address other needs as they arise for Tulsa Animal Services.
Community Participation in the Endowment Challenge
The endowment challenge invites residents of Tulsa to participate in building this support system. The foundation is asking the community to match its $1 million endowment, thus doubling the resources available for animal welfare in the city. Community members are encouraged to make donations to ensure the ongoing care and safety of Tulsa’s animal population.
Support for a New Animal Services Facility
The launch of the 'Forever Fund' coincides with the nearing completion of a new animal services facility in Tulsa. The new facility is expected to open in early 2027, and the endowment aims to provide resources that will enhance its operations from the outset, particularly in the areas of medical care and safety.
How to Get Involved
Residents interested in accepting the endowment challenge and making a community donation can find more information and contribute through the Be a Hero Tulsa website. The fundraising campaign represents an opportunity for the community to make a meaningful impact on long-term support and welfare for Tulsa’s animals.
Ongoing Commitment to Animal Welfare
The Tulsa Community Foundation’s initiative underscores a commitment to promoting animal welfare and ensuring the city’s animal services are equipped for both current and future needs. Through the 'Forever Fund,' supporters can help secure vital resources such as medical equipment and facility improvements.
